At the Hotel Before the Race, and at the Races!

Starting Thursday night, there were a lot of appearances and signing opportunities with the race car drivers.

This is Michael Waltrip signing my Daytona 500 50th Anniversary jacket.

He's a cutie!  I was able to give him a kiss on the cheek!

Through the lobby of the Monte Carlo hotel, there was a procession  advertising the Blue Man Group show.

It was pretty cool to see them go around.

It was more overcast on Friday for the races than it was the day before when we went through the Valley of Fire.  We wen to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the qualifying races.  When we got to the track, all we could hear were the trucks that dry the track, but we had clubhouse seats and decided to stay.

Friday afternoon at the race track.  Clouds were coming in fast.

It was cold and rainy; thankfully we were inside the clubhouse.

Took a walk around the neon garage - here's Dan looking into Denny Hamlin's garage with his newly purchased Hamlin jacket.

And of course, no event is complete unless there's knitting involved! ;-)

This was Saturday.  A much better day and really warm, too.
