Yarn, the Masters and Friends

Again, no pictures - sorry folks!

On Saturday, April 9th, I got together with five other women from Airdrie to do a Yarn Crawl of the Calgary knitting stores.  We started at Gina Brown's in the south, then to Pudding Yarns, Make 1 Yarns, and finished with The Knitting Room.

I like the Knitting Room best, as they have an entire wall in their back room devoted to yarn on sale.  I bought 6 skeins of yarn, and the total was only $14!  Score!  Two ivory microfibre skeins to make socks, two peach microfibre to make fingerless gloves, and two 100% pure wool to make little felted bowls to hold stuff.  Pictures to come when those projects are finished.

Sunday, we went up to Red Deer to meet up with Terry and Danny.  We haven't seen them since May 2008 when we watched Danny race his truck.  We watched the end of the Masters with them, as well as the end of the Curling (Canada won!) then went for dinner.  If you're ever in the Red Deer area, avoid Original Joes Restaurant.  We had the worst service ever.  It was so bad, in fact, that Danny actually confronted the waitress and asked her why she was being so snarky with us.  It was truly an awful experience.

Then back to the hotel to change into swimsuits and hit the hot tub.  It was great to catch up with them again.  So we're going to meet them in August in Vernon to watch the race there.
