Seascape Stole for FictionKNITsta's!

I signed up for FictionKNITsta's! which is a book tour of authors across Canada teamed up with a knitter.  Us knitters received the book written by the author, and we had to read it and get inspiration to knit something from it.

My author is Dora Dueck, and her book is What You Get at Home.  It's a series of short stories, and I really enjoyed it.  There is a theme of water and rivers throughout the stories, so I decided to knit "Seascape Stole".  Here's some pictures of it.

So that scarf is finished.  I'm also hoping to complete another scarf/shawl for Dora so she has options of what to wear when she is at her book readings.  There's also a chance the tour comes to Calgary, so I'll be able to meet her in person and get her to sign the book!

Susie's Scarf and Scott's Sweater (hey! alliteration!)

I knit this scarf/shawlette for my sister back in May, but only got around to blocking it in October.  I got it in the mail and hopefully I'll have a picture of Susie wearing this soon!

And at the same time, I mailed off this sweater for Scott.  It's a Mathew Gnagy design - I really like his work.  Dan is modelling the sweater for the picture, but again, hopefully I'll have a picture of Scott wearing it soon.



Barn Raising Quilt Blanket Completed and in its New Home

We went to the library last night to present the Barn Raising Quilt Blanket that we made for the Library.  Donna, on the far left, is the rep from the Library who coordinated the knit nights there.

My contributions to the blanket were the dark purple square in the centre, the solid grey/blue squares, the single green stripey square, and the light beige stripey squares.

All in all, I think we did a good job of the blanket, and I hope the Library can put it to good use.  Use it for their tot programs, or auction it off in their annual fundraiser.

Knitting Shedir

I made the Shedir chemo cap and here's a picture of it before blocking.  Hopefully I'll have a picture of Judy wearing it by the end of the weekend.

There's yarn left over, so I made a coffee cozy, too.
